In early 2018 Starling had around 200k users. They had an immediate need for digital ads to help them acquire new customers both business and consumers across multiple digital channels.
What Ekstasy decided to do is to use the testimonials of Starling customers to write scripts, inspired by the positive feedback from real users. Multiple ad scripts were written for both business and consumer product features.
The objective was to keep the scripts authentic to what the real benefits of the Starling product features are.
After the scripting of the ads, Ekstasy created a series of 19 x 30 sec ads with multiple cutdowns of 6, 10 and 15 sec which were used across various digital channels based on the media plan - Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and Youtube.
Ekstasy decided to go down a multiple day shoot inside a studio and opted for minimalist branded-sets to keep the costs low, in comparison to filming the 19 ads at 19 different locations, which would have eaten up the budget very quickly.
